A few FlyTab Wi-Fi tips and tricks for a smooth setup. To connect to Wi-Fi:
- From home screen select the Settings icon.
- Select Wi-Fi.
- If the Wi-Fi setting is Off, slide the button to the right until On displays.
- Select Wi-Fi Networks or tap Scan to refresh the networks.
- Select the network that you want to connect too.
- For a private network (home Wi-Fi), enter the password and the network will automatically connect.
- A captive portal connection (hotels, Starbucks, etc.) will require you to connect to a webpage to accept terms and conditions before accessing the Wi-Fi. There are two option to access the terms and conditions page once the Wi-Fi says Connected:
- Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the notification tray. You should see a message that says Sign-in to network: network name. Tap it and accept the terms and conditions.
- Open the browser icon on your FlyTab and tap on one of the preloaded websites. This will route you to the captive portal webpage to accept the terms and conditions.
Having trouble connecting to onboard Wi-Fi? Here are some things you can try:
- Toggling Wi-Fi on and off in Settings > Wi-Fi.
- Restarting your FlyTab by long pressing the power key > Restart.
- Scanning for Wi-Fi networks by going to Settings > Wi-Fi > Scan.
- Moving closer to the A position / forward galley.
Things to keep in mind:
- There are NO usernames or passwords required for onboard internet. Your device will automatically connect when an eligible network is detected in-range.
- If you're already connected to the aircraft network (such as "NXXXFR"), do NOT choose the Forget Network option in Network settings.
- The network is only operational when the cockpit is on, so the network will not be functional if the flight deck is disabled.
- Internet access is not available during all phases of flight.
- Internet access may be temporarily unavailable on certain tails due to MX reasons.
