Get to Know Denver International Airport (DEN)

Denver International Airport (also referred to as DIA but the airport code is DEN) is the 20th-busiest airport in the world and the fifth-busiest airport in the United States. With 69 million passengers traveling through the airport in 2019, DEN is one of the busiest airline hubs in the world’s largest aviation market. 

Denver International Airport is located at 8500 Pena Blvd. Denver, CO.                         

The airport consists of a main terminal and three (3) concourses. The main terminal known as Jeppesen Terminal has two sides - East and West.

Frontier Airlines ticket counter and baggage carousels are on the East side of the Jeppesen Main Terminal and flights  operate out of the A Concourse utilizing gates 32-60.

  • DEN Insider APP - As a badged employee of DEN,  you have exclusive access to a free employee-only mobile app that keeps you informed about important news and information about DEN. 
  • Therapy Animal Program - DEN has the largest airport therapy animal program in the country called DEN CATS and is made up of four-legged volunteers who delight travelers with a friendly wag or furry cuddle.  They can be seen throughout the airport, sporting their distinctive blue plaid “Pet Me” vests.  Passengers may hug, pet, and take pictures with DEN’s affectionate comfort crew!
  • Pet Relief Areas - Furry travelers at DEN have their own private restroom on each concourse and one outside of Jeppesen Main Terminal.  The indoor pet relief rooms provide service animals and furry companions with a comfortable and welcoming area to take care of business, before or after a flight.
  • Nursing Rooms - DEN offers three nursing rooms that are conveniently located post-security at the center of each of DEN’s concourses, offering a tranquil environment to nurse or pump while traveling.

    • Terminal B - Center of B Gates, near the women’s restroom closest to Tuleh Ruche

  • DEN Plaza - The popular Park on the DEN Plaza is a relaxing outdoor space for our passengers to get out and get some air while at DEN. Many events take place in the DEN Plaza including an ice skating rink in the winter.

  • Commuter Train - The A Line commuter train, operated by the Regional Transportation District (RTD), offers convenient transportation between DEN and downtown Denver: For schedules and more information about the A Line commuter train and buses to and from DEN, visit the RTD website
  • Mustang Sculpture - At the entrance to Denver International Airport there is a a giant blue mustang sculpture with glowing eyes known to many of as "Blucifer." Created by American sculpture artist Luis Jimenez in the mid-2000s, the cast-fiberglass sculpture is actually called “Blue Mustang.”
  • VeriFLY VeriFLY is a new airport experience that brings less contact and congestion, and more safety and speed. This free, app-based reservation system allows access to a dedicated TSA screening lane and a reserved limited-capacity train car to the concourse.
