Get to Know Chicago O'Hare International Airport

Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) became famous during the jet age, holding the distinction as the world’s busiest airport from 1963 to 1998; today, it is the world's sixth-busiest airport! In 2019, ORD had 919,704 aircraft operations, averaging 2,520 per day, the most of any airport in the world in part because of a large number of regional flights.

Chicago O'Hare International Airport is located at 10000 W O'Hare Ave, Chicago, IL 60666.

The airport consists of four terminals. They are Terminal 1, 2, 3 and 5. Terminal 5 is also the international terminal for the airport. 

Frontier Airlines ticket counter and baggage carousels are on Terminal 5 and flights operate out of concourse M. 

KCM is located across from the entry point of the security checkpoint in concourse M. It is at the exit doors for the passengers. It is the sliding door into the food court. The hours for this KCM station are 0430-2100.

Interesting Things About ORD:

  • University of Medical Center of O'Hare Illinois - The Medical Center is in Terminal #2, Upper Level Airside, just past the passenger screening area. Hours of operation are: 9 am to 5 pm, daily, sevenO'Hare Intl. Airport on Twitter: days a week. Flu shots are also available for crew members ($25), seven days a week, (9am to 5pm) at the UIC kiosks, located in Terminals 1, 2 and 3. The Medical Center also provides drug and breath alcohol screening, physical therapy, x-ray services and urgent care services.
  • Pet Relief Areas - Furry travelers at ORD have their own private restroom too! There are three outdoor pet relief areas near the lower level curb directly in front of Terminals 1, 2, and 5. There is also an indoor pet relief area just past the security checkpoints in the Rotunda area of Terminal 3. 
  • Mother's Room - Mother's Rooms are available in each terminal. This amenity offers a clean andChicago O'Hare Airport now has special breastfeeding room - Stuck at the  Airport comfortable room for traveling mothers to nurse, use a breast pump or care for young children.

  • Hilton Chicago O'Hare Airport Hotel - The Hilton Chicago O’Hare Airport Hotel is located directly across from Terminals 1, 2, and 3 and is within walking distance to all domestic terminals by underground walkways and from terminal 5 via the airport transit system. Hilton Chicago O'Hare also offers the convenience of an indoor walkway to the CTA Blue Line providing easy access to downtown.   • Chicago Transit Authority - Transit is the easiest way to get to Chicago airports; there’s no need to pay for parking or taxis when you ride with CTA. The CTA provides the ‘L’ (train) service directly to both O'Hare and Midway airports. Machines at the station issue new Ventra Cards or load fare or passes onto cards.
